Short Bio
Zuzana Ježková, graduated from the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague in theatre and film design, and further specialised at Nottingham Trent University. Her early major scenography works include B. Britten’s The Turn of the Screw at the State Opera Prague, 1999. She made her début as costume designer at The Göteborg Opera with Eugene Onegin in 2008. She has collaborated with David Radok on Arsilda by A. Vivaldi, 2017 presented also at The Royal Opera of Versailles, The Macropulos affaire by L. Janáček,The Bluebeard’s Castle and Erwartung and at The Göteborg Opera and . The cooperation extended to drama productions Leaving by Václav Havel at The Archa Theatre in Prague, Shakespeare’s As You Like It at the Revolving Auditorium in Český Krumlov, as well as Troilus and Cressida at Prague National Theatre. In addition to opera and theatre, Zuzana Ježková has also worked as costume designer for television and film, including three musical films based on B. Martinů’s compositions The Voice of the Forest, The Amazing Flight and The Tears of the Knife or a feature The Leaving directed by Václav Havel.
